Due to lockdown there were 0% smartphone sale in India in the month of April. Which alongwith the Indian Government new GST rule of imposing 18% tax on the import duties has risen the price of the Smartphones significantly. The budget smartphones which were less than 15k now have moved beyond 15-16k which changes the whole concept of price to performance factors.
Also, the devices which are launching in India nowadays are priced higher than it supposed to be, hurting the pockets of the customers. There are few recent examples like Mi 10 5G & Realme Narzo Series which are priced higher than it should be.

As you can see there is a significant rise in the price of smartphones from budget segment to premium segment. So, if you are planning to buy a new smartphone, then you have to spend some extra penny for that and in some cases it won't be justified spending that much.
